Kellie lives in Irving, Texas, a Dallas suburb. She was introduced to clicker training when she had an aggressive cockatoo in the late 1990s. She obtained her B.S. in Applied Behavior Analysis in Denton, Texas in 2004 and her M.S. degree in Behavior Analysis in 2007 while raising two sons. Her thesis focused on understanding and treating canine aggression, and environmental controls for emotional behaviors. She worked for 10 years in Animal Welfare & Sheltering as a Shelter & Behavior Manager. Her book, Turning Fierce Dogs Friendly: Constructional Aggression Treatment for Rehabilitating Aggressive and Reactive Dogs, was published in 2018. She is currently a writer focusing on animal behavior and welfare issues, and a working artist. She and her husband share their home with 2 mixed-breed dogs and 3 cats.
